I started building my own frames a few years ago, mainly because I wanted a rhombus shaped frame for my print work. It has now turned into a side gig for me. I love building frames for other artists and their work. It’s truly gratifying as well as inspiring to build frames for artwork.
The frame molding that I use is a light maple. The molding dimensions are
1 ¼” D x ¾” W. The artwork can either be floated within the frame or matted with a border. The frame can be sanded down and left bare or be stained/painted.
