Drawings are based off an image, I distort and draw with the x-acto knife as if I were scribbling with a pencil on a piece of paper. Working with gesture and in the moment. The marks are intentional and spontaneous. I cut and attach clay extrusions to create a 3 dimensional drawing on top of the plate. I paint with glaze and slips over the drawn lines to create layered compositions. I make these pieces to live in that moment.
